Subime Text 2 Future

I’m concerned about the future of Sublime Text 2 and what support we are going to receive for it in the future. Obviously the development has switched to Sublime Text 3, and Sublime Text 2 hasn’t received any updates since June 2012.
I don’t want to use ST3 while in beta and prefer to use the stable release instead. That’s why I bought a license for it, presuming that it will be continued. And no, I don’t think that I (we) payed for a final product. I don’t care that ST2 has been in beta for a long time. I payed for a stable product and like any other software that I’ve payed for I expect to receive updates for at least an year in the future.

Exciting question. Similar questions were asked before (e.g., see this post). But, unfortunately, the creator of sublime text does not seem to care.
