Stupid Question Time: I have several installs on mac, they have different settings folders

#1

some are in
~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 1
~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3
~/Library/Application Support/Sublime
is there a way to alter the path so I can rename them all to be the same.

sorry for the stupid question, been using this forever but some stuff still just eludes my brain.

Assuming you’re still using all of the old versions of Sublime actively, no; their settings and packages aren’t compatible with each other (certainly between Version 1 and 3 at least). I’m not aware of any version of Sublime that uses just a Sublime folder though.

If you’re using ST3 and ST4, they will both share the same settings folder automagically; if ST4 starts and sees the folder for ST3 it will use that one rather than making one of its own (which would be named just Sublime Text instead of Sublime Text 3). Note however that even in this case not everything will work the way you want if you are swapping back and forth.

Thanks , I have been on 4 for a while. I finally pulled the trigger and did a clean install which got everything into “Sublime Text” then I ran into the openssl issue and got that cleaned up and everything reinstalled and working. Thank you again for the clarification!!
