Strange message during apt update

#1

When doing an sudo apt update on Kali Linux, I am getting the following Warning message.

W: https://download.sublimetext.com/apt/stable/InRelease: Key is stored in legacy trusted.gpg keyring (/etc/apt/trusted.gpg), see the DEPRECATION section in apt-key(8) for details.

I have no idea what any of that means. Please advise.

It means check the man pages of apt-key under updates.
I think that this was described by one of the ST team members
some time age IIRC. Perhaps you can search the forum.

Thanks for the tip. However with sudo apt-key update I get the message…
Warning: apt-key is deprecated. Manage keyring files in trusted.gpg.d instead (see apt-key(8)).
No clue what “apt-key(8)” refers to or what a keyring file is although I see trusted.gpg.d in /etc/apt. I just don’t know how to process that file.

This post should help. If not, perhaps someone else can answer.
