After the unexpected ST4 upgrade, I get the following message box:

However if I click change limit it makes ST4 hang.
Note that I got the same box this morning to go from … to what it is now and then it did work.

Actually, if possible I would prefer being able to ‘exclude’ some folders from ‘being watched’ instead of increasing the inotify setting.
My project has 2 folders:
abc/large
abc/xlarge
which contain a very large set of files which I never have to edit, search, … Is there a way to turn them off of using inotify watchers? I still need to see the files in the sidebar.
There is no way to do that, no (other than to run out of inotify watches and hope that the folders that don’t have watches are the ones you don’t care about, I suppose).
On the other hand, if you never need to edit files in the larger folder, you could just not have it in the project perhaps? I’m not sure what your workflow there is.
I do need to look at the files, luckily not too often.
For now I have put them in the ‘folder_exclude_patterns’ and will have to resort to not using sublime to look at these files
I had hoped that ‘index_exclude_patterns’ had worked, that would have been ideal. I thought that was kind of the idea of that option? Still see the files but do not actively watch them?
Indexing and watching is separate. If they show up in the side-bar then they need to be watched, as otherwise the state shown there would be out of date. Indexing is for gathering definitions and references from files in the side bar.
