[ST3] Turn off autocomple in python strings

#1

Hi,

Several people have had this problem, but so far no one has found a solution that works.

While writing python docstrings, ST3 keeps popping open the auto-complete box, which is never helpful. This has been asked before:

sublimetext.userecho.com/topic/1 … ng-string/

and the proposed solution is to add:

"auto_complete_selector": "source - (comment, string.quoted)"

to my sublime text settings. However, this does not work for me. I’m not sure if this is a ST version issue (I’m using 3, the question linked above was for 2), or whether this is a bug in ST itself.

Can anyone help?

Cheers,

Update:

After getting totally annoyed at this popup box that keeps adding garbage to my docstrings, I decided to try and turn off autocomplete altogether, so I added:

"auto_complete": false

to my user settings… only to find that it has no effect. I’m sure I haven’t touched that setting in any other config file. Is autocomplete totally busted in ST3?

The following seems to work for me.

    "auto_complete_selector": "source - string.quoted - comment, meta.tag - punctuation.definition.tag.begin"

“auto_complete” false also works for me. Build 3061.
