Since the 32xx releases, I have noticed a situation where ST3 stops responding to user input. Cmd-Tabbing to it does not bring it to the foreground; I can still navigate to the ST3 windows, but they does not respond to mouse or keyboard inputs. (no scrolling, in particular.) No beachball, I can manipulate the menus, and some commands work. I can quit gracefully (incl. with Cmd-Q) and restart.
It mostly happens after the computer was put to sleep, but in at least one case it happened spontaneously.
Feel free to ask for more details by email.
(Latest Mojave, MBP 15" 2018, tons of plugins, Gravity theme fwiw…)
ST3 Mac periodically loses capacity for input
I’m also experiencing this issue. I think it might have to do with being in full screen mode.
I use ST3 in full screen mode all the time and haven’t noticed this. Does it happen with no plugins? (I use a ton of plugins as well, btw) Have you tried a state reset?
I am not using full screen mode, so I doubt it’s related (unless rgant’s issue is different.)
It happens after some time, so binary search of plugin would involve slow steps. (And removing too many plugins make ST3 useless to me, so not easy to do for an extended period. Similar for state reset, but I may try if nothing else works.)
More details on my side: menu actions that do not involve the UI, like quit or ST documentation, still work. Anything that would have UI impact fails. In particular, impossible to Show Console. Is there a way to setup ST3 so console log goes to a file?
I tried reverting my theme to Adaptive, problem still occurs, so not a Gravity bug.
At least one case where the freeze symptom immediately followed unplugging an external display, fwiw.
I left the console running in another window, no unusual message showed at the time of the freeze.
Seeing the other freeze threads mention gpu, now trying setting “gpu_window_buffer”: false.
I have this exact issue. Will try turning this off, but I do really like having the gpu take care of these things. Further, it is most certainly related to drawing b/c one of the external monitors I use at work is higher resolution and you can see an outline of the window it’s trying to draw, but doesn’t get to do it properly
