sometimes, this is happening:

the left side is background image. To the right, ST 3 sidebar FOLDERS show these icons dancing. All directories are local on EXT4, no symlinks.
my settings are:
{"animation_enabled": false}
but it doesn’t seem related. This is very hard to reproduce so no save mode enabled here. One question would be, what does animation even do? I guess ST animations are very subtle because i note no difference. And the other, could this even be remotely related to what i am seeing?
I am using Gnome DE and after a couple of minutes the dancing folders are expanding, but subfolders don’t.
