Split panel

#1

Hello.

I would like to know if there is a way to split the panel.
I would like to run two instances of the Terminus shell plugin in the panel.

Thanks by advance.

Does using Terminus’s View and setting Menu > View > Layout work?

Hello.
Thank for the proposition, but …

I don’t have a specific view for terminus. And
Menu > View > Layout
operate on texting area not on panel.

It’s not possible to split a panel; panels are always the full width of the window. The only UI they have is to hide/show them, and size them to be taller or shorter.

Note however that Terminus lets you open a shell in a view as well as in a panel, so you can more or less achieve what you want that way:

Origami?

Yes, that’s the package I used here. Off the top of my head I’m not sure if you can do that with stock commands (i.e. from the View menu), but I don’t think so; I think it tends towards wanting to use columns first and rows second.

It’s also possible to manually set the layout from a plugin if you’re particularly adventurous, but one of the advantages of Origami is the speed at which you can create a custom layout as well as the ability to save one and use it again later.
