I have three copies of build 3047 on different machines - A 2009 Mac Pro (Desktop), 2011 Macbook Pro (Laptop) and a 2013 Macbook Pro.
when keying Command - Shift - L or chosing Selection > Split Into Lines from the menu, the Selection menu flashes but nothing happens to the selected text

How long have you been using ST3? Did you switch from ST2?
What do you mean by “not working”?
Are you saying that you have had satisfactory behavior of the command in the past, and now it is doing something different, or not doing ‘anything’?
Most importantly, what behavior are you expecting to see? What is it you expect that command to do?
