I use the empheq environment instead of equation to highlight some equations in my latex document. However some math is flagged as typo in empheq but not in equation. Apparently the spellchecker does not know `empheq. Is there a way to add it to the math environments that the spell checker recognizes?

Content within empheq is handled as ordinary text. Hence spell checking is applied.
Content within equation begin/end tags is scoped math equation. All tokens p, _ and yi are scoped variable or keyword and therefore excluded from spell checking.
Support for empheq highlighting would need to be added to LaTeX syntax to fix it.
