Spell check no longer working

L&Gs,

I use subl for almost everything. At work I have a desktop with subl v4125 and at home subl v4126, both running on ubuntu 20.04 (cinnamon desktop). I upgraded both systems on the same day and get these different versions.

On the work desktop, spelling is working OK for markdown files in both EN, FR and NL, but at home the spell checking is no longer functional.

I compared the dir structure and the language files used on both systems and they are identical.

What could be the problem, all help is appreciated,

Dumb question: did you enable spell checking?

Or, what kind of not working you mean?

  • No checking at all
  • It checks with a wrong dictionary
  • ?

‘spell_check = true’, I toggled it many times on/off, and I also changed dictionaries between the available languages.

Until a couple of weeks ago it was no problem, I really do not know what happened.

My last resort will be to copy over the ~/.config/sublime_text dir from work PC to home PC, but I hope someone here can help me out.

Have you tried safe mode?

I solved the problem, I changed to markdown-editing mode for the markdown files and specll-cheks ware available again
