An option to specify smerge diff foo.c bar.c and especially smerge merge foo.c bar.c would be helpful.
This would open up sublime merge in the respective mode (diff view/ merge view) and allow for diffing/merging two arbitrary files, the result would be output to stdout.
A workaround is to create a git repo etc. etc.
