Since latest update, Sublime requires a license key

#1

Hi all,

Has been any undocumented change that made key licenses mandatory in 3.3153-1?

When I start the program, a window asking for license appears. There’s no option for “evaluation”. It’s the first time ever I see this window.

Thanks!

build 3153 is a dev build, dev builds have always required a license. Try installing 3143 from the stable channel instead.

Are you sure? I’ve been using the dev build on Manjaro AUR repository for some months. And this happened after this week’s update.

Yes, dev channel always has been available for registered users only.

I guess it’s AUR’s fault then. Thanks @ihodev!

You will also need a v3 license, not a v2 license.

We now have an official arch repository, so the AUR is not necessary. The official repository is GPG signed by us and builds are available immediately. See https://www.sublimetext.com/docs/3/linux_repositories.html for more details.

AUR rollbacked latest update and everything is back to normal (I had to reinstall though).

Thanks @wbond, I’ll check it out!
