Sidebar: Click to Jump to Spot, not just scroll a little up or down?

#1

In the Sidebar that shows the mini version of the entire document that’s open, how can I configure this to ‘jump to’ the spot that I click and not simply scroll up/ down in small increments?

I’ve seen other posts about this but no resolution or setting option that I can find?

I think I remember that in Sublime I could click and it would just straight to that spot that was clicked. Now, it simply shuffles up/ down the page a little and does not go to the spot that was clicked.

macOS.
Sublime Text build 4169

It used to be so easy to quickly ‘bounce’ directly to the right section (sure I can use Ctrl-G and jump to a line, but I don’t always know/ remember the exact line)

Thank you for any and all help, ideas, suggestions!!

That sounds reminiscent of this macOS System Setting:

…but (AFAICT) Sublime Text does not pay attention to that System Setting for clicks in the Minimap and always jumps to the spot.

Maybe it’s the fact that if the file is long enough then the Minimap actually doesn’t show the entire file that’s causing confusion?

One of the first settings in macOS that I change is the Jump to Scroll spot. I’ve had that as-is forever.

No matter the file length, clicking the Minimap only “shurgs” the selection up or down a little. It does not JUMP to the spot clicked.

Any thoughts? I read through the other article and either do not understand, or do not see a way to fix this

The minimap always jumps to where you clicked, it however does not always show the entire file so clicking on the bottom of it may not scroll to the bottom of the file. If you look at the contents of the minimap ST will scroll to the contents you clicked on.

Okay. Thank you for clearing this up.
You are correct. Clicking the minimap does move the document to the location but also shifts the ‘highlighted’ portion of the minimap.
