Showing same file in 2 panels

Sublime has this nifty feature where you can create a 2 (or more) vertical-panel layout, which is perfect for showing the same file in both panels when you are working on two similar blocks of code in the same file.

The problem is, despite knowing it is possible to do this, I can’t figure out how to show the same file in both panels. If I drag it from one panel to the other it just moves it.

I’ve read online you can hit “Ctrl + P” in the second panel and type in the file name to open it there, but that doesn’t work.
I’ve also read that you can “Clone” the file in panel 1 to panel 2, which I can’t seem to figure out how to do.

How do I show the same file in two panels at once?

File > New view into File

Awesome. I would have never figured that out from the labeling, but pretty sure I can remember that moving forward. Thanks. :smile:

I also recommend github.com/SublimeText/Origami, which lets you create new panes and clone file views into them.
