I have noticed that Sublime does not always show syntax for files. I would like to instruct it to do so. For example, I sometimes edit my .emacs
files (elisp) in sublime (sic.) Can I instruct sublime to treat the file like an elisp file even though it has no .el
extension?

Open the file and then
View -> Syntax -> Open all with current extension as… -> choose your syntax
