Sftp sync only selected folders

I wander is there a way to select subfolders to sync with sftp plugin?
I mean, I would like to use only some folders form website, and to have them as a project in sidebar.
From what I can see, I can only sync entire directory, in that way I need to download lots of files?
Or I can only map main folder and download desired subfolders without sync, just use “upload on save” when editing files?
