Hello
Is it true that there is no support for SFTP but commercial?
Thanks
I would guess that the only people whom can answer this is the author of the SFTP plugin or users which have needed support semi-recently.
That said, you can always mount a folder over SSH and use ST “normally”.
You would use other software that mounts an SSH filesystem to your local computer, making it appear as if it’s part of your local drive setup even though it is not, which you could then open in Sublime. You would not need the SFTP package in that case.
I think both @kingkeith and myself are confused because SFTP
is a package for Sublime Text and is in fact a commercial package.
I presume though that you’re not asking about getting support for that package and instead you’re asking if there is any support for editing files via sftp
in Sublime without having to purchase that package.
If so, I don’t believe so, no (other than the solution outlined above). I’m not aware of any other package that does this, since SFTP
already exists.
Can you please recommend on a software that mounts an SSH filesystem to local computer?
Also commercial is fine.
Thanks
I’ve never used such a thing myself so I don’t have any specific recommendations to share, unfortunately. Hopefully someone else may have an idea about that though.
Mountain Duck and Expandrive are a couple of cross platform options that I’ve used.
In the end I found the Sublime SFTP package worked better for working in Sublime itself. Sooner or later I always ran into an issue with mounting an SSH file system locally, either not syncing properly or losing the connection. Mounting the file system was still useful for accessing the files outside of Sublime though.
