SFTP plugin failure (Host does not exist)

When trying to send a file to a server, the SFTP plugin cannot connect to an existing server.

Connecting to SFTP server "198.244.xx.xx as “xxxxxxx” … failure (Host does not exist)

The ssh connection works, connecting and sending files via WinSCP to the same settings works. Sending files to another server via SFTP plugin works. What is wrong with this server that it is impossible to upload a file to it ?
