Setting default settings?

#1

I find Sublime text editor to be useful. It has the editing functions I require.

However, much like emacs, it is very cumbersome to set default preferences. When I search the documentation it leads me to extremely large files. When I find the settings I would like set, it will not accept nor save my preferences.

Anything more succinct?

Thank you, Jeff

Not much support here. Not one replay in a day.

I have several paid targeted IDEs including Wing for Python and Scrivener for writing. They both provide good support.

I’ll save the $99 and stick with vscode.

Too bad.

Your question was 10 hours ago, not a full day.

The answer to your question is that no, there’s no other way to set the settings other than to use the built in system to override the settings whose values you want to change.

You need to make your settings changes on the right hand pane of the Preferences > Settings window; the left side shows the default settings; you copy the settings whose value you want to modify to the right hand pane and modify them there. Any setting that’s not in the right hand pane uses the default.
