Selection block timeout adjustment?

When I select a block of text, I am unable to click inside that block and relocate the caret for around half a second or so.

I can double-click to immediately relocate the caret but I don’t remember that being what I used to have to do.

I dont see anything in the changelogs about this nor do I see a setting for this behavior so I’m curious as to whether I’ve somehow done this to myself.

Anyone know of something I could check to see about either changing or eliminating this timeout?

Here is a gif describing the behavior I’m looking to eliminate. The caret flashes when I click so thats handy to see how often im clicking.

looks like one of your installed plugins is overriding the default behavior, because it works as you expect it to for me

Coming back to update with the fix. In my case, this was caused by the Hover Image Preview plugin.
