Select all references(not occurrences) of a word in the text

#1

Hi,

Is there a way to select all the “was” words excluding occurrences between the text in the gif below
When I double click to select the first “was” word it is already able to recognize what I wanted to select.
But when I hit ctrl+d it also select “was” occurring between other words.

similar to this Find all occurences of the selected word but I want to select highlighted words in one shot.

Thanks,
Vineel

Don’t select was before hitting ctrl+d or alt+f3, just place the cursor inside.

@FichteFoll What a subtle difference. Awesome thanks for clarifying. :slightly_smiling:

But it’s not quite the same. I wanted all the references which are highlighted in rectangular border to be selected nothing more. With your suggestion I could now reject selection of “was” occurring in words. But in the below gif if you observe, the word “node” is selected from the comments as well even though initially it was not highlighted in rectangular borders.

Anyway thanks for your reply

Enable case-sensitive matching in ctrl+f dialog. It will affect ctrl+d behavior.
