Run specific command when repository has changed files

My changed files need to be processed before staging and commit. Any way to run a command on those or when changed files are detected in the repository?

Git already has this kind of functionality built in using git hooks. I don’t think it makes sense duplicating that functionality within Sublime Merge as well.
