You have open folder in Sidebar. Is there any way to make keyboard shortcut that will open current selected file from Sidebar for editing.

It should work regardless if toggle_preview_on_click is on or off.

Yes, but I would like to assign it to ctrl+e, for example.

The related key binding and its command seems to be hard coded in core.

“hard coded” generally means something not being customizable.
