Renaming a stash from right click menu?

On stashes, it is possible to right click > edit commit > edit commit message but on doing so, git throws an error saying that the commit is not reachable by head, so it cannot be edited

There is not a way, I don’t even think git itself supports renaming a stash. You would need to apply/pop the stash & re-stash it with a new name.
