Remote visibility follow local branch?

This may be kind of esoteric but: I find that when I hide a local branch, I’d like to hide the corresponding remote too; and when I unhide a local branch, I’d like to unhide the corresponding remote, too. Would it be possible to add this functionality, at least optionally? Or is this something I could implement as a custom command?
