Remember "Hide menu"

#1

I use Linux. In Sublime Text 3 I can hide the menu bar and it stays like that during my session. The next time I open the application the menu bar is displayed again.

I prefer to have the menu hidden as I hardly ever use it. But ST seems to insist on it being visible.

Is there a way to set this in my preferences?

on second thoughts, that link might not be what you’re looking for.

Which distro are you using, and which version of ST?

With Ubuntu MATE 15.04 and ST 3083, it remembers my settings regarding menu visibility between sessions and reboots too.

At least that gives me a shortcut. Thank you.

I tried editting the .config/sublime-text-3/Local/Session.sublime_session file. No results.

I’m on Linux Mint 17.2 Cinnamon which is based on Ubuntu 14.04. I also use ST3 build 3083.

Edit: That helped me on my way. I noticed the setting menu_visible was being returned to true automatically.

I added this to my user settings: (Preferences.sublime-settings)

	"new_window_settings":
	{
		"menu_visible": false
	},

Strangely it now remembers my last selected setting. If I enable it manually and re-open ST this setting is preserved, yet the menu bar is enabled.

Not sure what the logic behind this, but it is now functioning as I would like it to.
