[Regression] Unknown character display

#1

Hi!

When a file contains a character unknown to my system, programs usually show a small square which contains the Unicode code point. This is simple and very useful!

Sublime Text 2 reproduces this behavior perfectly… but Sublime Text 3 sadly doesn’t.
I’ve tested with the latest version of both (2.0.2 and 3.2.2), Linux 64 bit.

str

Thanks in advance for your help!

Interestingly, fileformat.info states that your character isn’t a proper unicode character. I don’t know why that is, but I can confirm that the character renders for me.

This is just a character from the Korean alphabet, but we’re getting off-topic here
I’ve just picked a random character which doesn’t render on my system, as an example.
