Quick Switch Project (Ctrl+Alt+P) freezes ST3 for 45-60 seconds [resolved]

#1

I have Sublime Text 3 on Windows 7. It’s been working fine for a long time, but lately, when I press Ctrl+Alt+P to do “Quick Switch Project”, the entire application becomes unresponsive for anywhere from 45-60 seconds. Then, finally, the Project List popup appears.

I have 3 separate installations, all with the same bunch of plugins (listed below). This only occurs on one of them. That one, however, does have its “My Documents” directory set to a remote path (networked H: drive), unlike the other two, where it’s local. (I cannot change that. Besides, it didn’t used to do this, even though the directory has always been remote.)

I’d be willing to clear out the project history, if that might help, but I don’t see how to delete entries from that list.

Can I Use
Color Schemes
Encoding Helper
HTML-CSS-JS Prettify
InsertDate
JSHint
Languages
Package Control
RegReplace
SelectIndentBlock
TextPastry
Trailing Spaces

Look in your %AppData%\Sublime Text 3\Local\ folder for a file named Session.sublime-session. It contains the list of projects for the quick switch list (among many other settings).

Woohoo! Thank you! I found the recent_workspaces array at the very bottom of that file, deleted some references to remote drives and files that may not exist any more, and now the Quick Switch Project menu pops up in under 250ms.

Thanks for that; I’ll mark this resolved. I’ve “liked” your fix.
