Quick Find/Find Next assumes whole word?

Is there a setting for the Quick Find (find_under) command to toggle the selection to only whole words?
The reason I ask is that the behavior for Quick Find just changed today so I must have made a change to cause only whole words to be selected.
I used to be able to Quick Find and then Find Next to go to the next occurance whether whole word or not.
