Python Toggle Comment adds extra characters when inside quotation marks

#1

Whenever I use the toggle comment command in any of my python scripts while my cursor is inside of a string denoted with quotation marks, it adds a “(?” before the pound sign. See the line below:
(?# r"T:_INF\CLIENTS\GDOT\MEI\D7_GUARDRAIL\DOCUMENTS\RepairReviews\SAE\RepairReview_SAE_2021_09_13_Response.xlsx",)

Outside of quotes the toggle comment command works fine. It’s only when I’m within quotes.

Is this an intended behavior, bug, or did I change a setting accidentally?

@kingkeith Thanks! I’m new around here. Any way we can get this fixed in a future update?

We can propose a better patch than I already did and add some test cases to help sublimehq feel more confident about applying it, otherwise all we can do is wait for them to fix it
