Projects on remote folder, including unsaved files, are not restored if folder is unmounted

#1

I’m using OSXFuse to mount folders from an Ubuntu virtual machine and open projects saved to these folders. However, if I close out of Sublime, unmount the drive and reopen Sublime (e.g. by restarting), the project windows don’t come back, including unsaved files.

This only happens when the windows were opened from .sublime-project files. If the folders are just added to any regular window, upon reopening, the folders are empty, but all of the data is restored, including unsaved files. Also, if the folder is remounted before reopening Sublime, then the data is preserved too.

I’ve just started using projects, and was really surprised to see all of my unsaved work evaporate following a restart, after years of thinking I understood the hot exit behaviour. I’m just guessing that, if a project is inaccessible, Sublime just ignores all of its associated data in Sublime.sublime_session? I really hope this behaviour changes.

Sublime Build 3126, OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

probably this is the best description of this problem I’ve seen - nice one for noticing the .sublime-project relevance :slightly_smiling:

this open issue here seems to be about the same thing:

Does sound like it. Thanks for pointing me to the issue! I’ve closed the loop and pointed back to this thread in the issue.
