Ever since I updated to Sublime text 4, I annoyingly get a new blank window along with every project I launch from finder on my Mac OSX.
This does not happen if, while inside sublime, I open a new project through ‘Command+O’ or ‘File -> Open’ then choose a project. However, I rarely work this way. I’m always using multiple programs for each project so I’m navigating through finder to open my projects/files. This has gotten frustrating enough for me to uninstall sublime text 4 Build 4121 and reinstall Sublime Text 3 Build 3211.
I looked around in these forums and online but I only see people referring to new documents opening [or not opening] solely when sublime is launched. However, my issue happens when its already opened and I may have 5 files and a blank doc opened already.
For example, I have 6 project files open in Sublime already and while in finder, I select a file and open it in sublime (either by default or through ‘open with…’). The file opens in its own window but hiding behind that window is a brand new blank untitled document. Then I open another file in Finder and the file I opened AND a new blank document both open in their own windows. I’m essentially ending up with twice the number of windows I open.
Reverting back to sublime 3 and this no longer happens.
Please remove this behavior.
My install might be partially responsible because after running the dmg file, I cannot move this app into the Applications folder. I have to keep it anywhere else on my system since I am on my work computer and placing an app into the Applications folder requires an Admin username/password I do not have. This is a very common scenario so even if this is responsible, it should be addressed.
