create a new project and its empty. go to add files to the project and that option is NOT available, all you can do is add FOLDERS to the project which in many cases adds the project file itself to the project which is totally wrong. There needs to be a way to add individual files to the project and a way to REMOVE files from a project.
So Anyway, I created my new project, added a folder to the project and have exactly ZERO files in my new project. delete project, opend a file, so i know the editor is pointing at the right sub dir and say add folder to project. get one sub dir of that folder added to the project and ZERO FILES. there are 3 sub dirs in the folder im trying to add plus 3 or 4 files at its top level. the sub dirs have close to 50 or so files in them total.
Open file gives me a folder view widnow with no way to pop up one level. it also does not show … so i cannot use this to pop up a level either. i am forced to click on the global bookmark for my ~ then search the list presented for the sub dir, then search the list presented for the sub dir, then search the list presented for the sub dir… ad infinitum till i get to where i wanted to be, one level up from where i started in the first place.
edit>
when creating a project file i also get a workspace file. this is populated instantly with 3 months of dross from other projects. close ST3, delete the workspace file, open st3 and the workspace file gets recreated wth 3 months of dross from other projects. Why is ST3 not creating a new BLANK workspace file?
more info:
opened the project file and it is showing the sub directories that were added but none of the files within those sub directories were added to the project.
for example i added a “src” directory to my project. under this there is a “kernel” directory. src shows in the side bar and nothing shows below it when i expand it until i resize the sidebar, then kernel shows up. expand kernel and there are no files under that branch of the tree.
