Three suggestions relating to defaults:
- syntax defaults has a comment at the top:
// These settings override both User and Default settings for the JSON syntax
consider putting a similar one at the top of the user default file.

Opening Sublime preferences opens both the Default and user Default setting side by side. It be nice if all the packages worked the same way as it allows one to see what Default settings are available while editing your user defaults.
