That doesn’t auto-complete file paths in the search bar (unless I am missing a configuration somewhere).

I don’t understand why you would need autocompletion in Goto Anything (which is what the ctrl+p popup is called). It has fuzzy-search and you don’t benefit in any way from it auto-completing something? Besides, what should be completed in the first place?
