Performance difference between standard and portable version

#1

Hi everyone.

I’ve been using sublime text 2 for a while and I’m moving to ST3 now.

I’m going to be using it in three computers and I want to keep the same setup/plugins in the three of them.

I’ve read about the dropbrox tip to keep the same setup between computers but I prefer the portable version so I can easily have it in my phone memory and just copy it to any computer.

The only difference I’ve noticed between standard and portable versions in windows is the lack of the “open with sublime text” menu in the contextual menu with the portable version, but that’s not a big deal for me.

Also, I don’t notice any performance difference now, but maybe as I install more and more plugins there will be some.

Any other things or advantages/disadvantages to consider when choosing between standard and portable version?

Logically speaking, there is no performance difference between portable and non-portable versions.

I prefer the portable one since I can just run it off a USB disk and have all my files/config travel with me.

I have used both for a while, and there is no apparent performance difference.
I liked Portable for a while, but you have to manually setup all the context menu options in explorer for windows and found it was just easier to use the installer.
If I needed it on the go, I’d use portable without a doubt without any concerns.
