So after using ST for many years and building some plugins that I use daily, I decided it was time to throw some of them into Package Control for Potential Altruistic Benevolence. The basic how-to on that site is pretty good but I think there’s some nuance missing, requiring more googling than expected. I decided to document my travels and put together an example plugin project that hopefully might be useful. Any comments or input are welcome, using the usual channels.
Package Control Submission Example Project

The “Package Metadata” part is irrelevant for package authors or package submission.
It’s existance tags a package “managed by Package Control” and its content is required to drive some internals.

Yes, I know that and thought I made it clear that it is generated by Package Control. As far as relevance, I know that when I open a package to see what’s inside I am curious about the contents of everything inside. I will put more emphasis on the generated aspect and add warning to not mess with it. Thanks for the fb.
