Overlay disappears when window loses focus

In recent builds the overlay is no longer sticky when a window loses focus. In 4113 (mac), if I bringup the cmd+p overlay then cmd-tab to a different window and then back to sublime, the overlay is still open and focused. In 4114 (mac) that stopped working, the overlay now disappears. It’s the same in 4116.
I really appreciate the old behavior (e.g. I can cmd-tab to look at a line number for example and then back to sublime). I looked through the default settings and the release notes and didn’t see anything that looked like this became a configurable behavior, did I miss it? Is it possible to get the old behavior back?
