Opens without focus

Windows 7 and Sublime Text 3131 (portable version without any packages).

Please note: I am not sure this is an issue related to Sublime Text. However, I have only seen it with Sublime Text.

If I start Sublime Text from the command line, with or without a file, then maybe 7 out of 10 times, the editor window does not have focus. I can click on the window or Ctrl+Tab through all open programs, when ST gets focus, it works as it should.

However, if leaving the ST window unfocused and I immediately press Alt+F4, it seems as if an invisible window/program is closed and the ST window gets focus. But now ST does not function correctly:

  • Package Control does not work.
  • Settings opens as an empty window (both default and user part).
  • Key bindings opens as an empty window (both default and user part).

There may be other things not working.

Any ideas of what is going on here?

maybe you managed to kill the plugin_host.exe process, so no Python/plugin code will operate until you restart ST again

No, the plugin_host.exe is still running after Alt+F4.
This is all very strange.

I should add that I do not have to press Alt+F4 very quickly after opening ST. It is just the first thing done after starting the program.
