Opening settings side by side

I mainly run Linux. In the change log for 3124 it said:

Settings now open in a new window, with the default and user settings side-by-side

After upgrading, however, it didn’t seem to work, so I thought “maybe I misunderstood and this is supposed to do something else”, however, I just tried the latest Sublime Text on Windows, and there the settings open in a new window, with the default and user settings side-by-side…

Is this a windows only feature? or what do I need to do to enable it on my Linux machines? I already run the latest version.

you have probably (installed a package that has) overridden the Main.sublime-menu file, I bet it will work in a clean state
