"Open in Browser" opening the HTML file in Internet Explorer

#1

Hi there,

I am facing this issue from yesterday. My default browser is chrome and when I click on “Open in Browser” it should open the .HTML file in Chrome but instead it’s opening the file in Internet Explorer. This issue is weird, I have tried many solutions like changing the Default browser, resetting browsers settings. But still the issue is same.

My Sublime version is 2.

Thanks in Advance.

Try sublime.wbond.net/packages/SideBarEnhancements. If you are already using it, you can adjust the default browser in the settings.

Hi Zeshan,

I encountered something similar to your problem recently. First off, though, I must say that I am a OS X Mavericks user, and since you mentioned IE then you’re most probably using Windows and this may not solve your problem, but I do hope it helps.

I had tried repeatedly to do the right click > Open in Browser with my HTML file but it refused to open in my default browser, Chrome (nothing happened at all). Apparently, “Open in Browser” refers to the default program that opens all HTML files on your computer (not your default browser); I had set all of my files to by default be opened with ST2 which was why nothing was happening. Once I changed the default program to Chrome, I was able to right click > Open in Browser.

(Did a little research online and you can do this on Windows by following the instructions found here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-sg/windows/change-file-open-program#1TC=windows-7)

What I did since I do still want my HTML (and CSS and JS) files to open with ST2 was to add a new “Build System” as shown in the answer for the question here http://stackoverflow.com/a/8023999/3844356.

Again, I hope this helps. Extremely frustrated because I couldn’t find an answer online by Google-ing.
