On "Open in new window"

As of the latest versions of Sublime Text 4, this option (right-click on an item in the sidebar) no longer opens the item in a new window — as before — but as a folder in the project.

I am not sure this is a bug — or a feature — butt it’s annoying :slight_smile:

Ideas?

if you can’t find it in the safe mode, then it’s from plugin.

It appears to be provided by SideBarEnhancements package.

But that package hasn’t updated for a while, so probably something is changed/broken in ST.

The fix is easy enough, but not sure the PR will get merged anytime soon. See my blog post on how I fixed it: https://codedissolved.com/sublime-text-bug-fix/

It seems your PR has been merged into sidebar Enhancements. An alternate way to get the latest would be using Sublime Merge or Git to download the package from Github.

Yes! It was merged in less time that PR’s in my day job. Goes to show you can’t judge a project’s staleness only on last commit date.
