Old session opens instead of most recent session

#1

When I open ST3 it opens an old session rather than my previous session. I am on Windows and just run ST3 from a folder, it is not ‘installed’. I’ve tried deleting the files (apart from the licence) in Data\Local, but it still opens with this old session. I’ve tried checking my user AppData folders just in case there was something in there it was reading, but I don’t have any Sublime folders in there.

If I search the ST3 dir for .sublime_session files it only finds the ones in the Data\Local path.

Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be / where it is loading this session from?

Does it also happen in safe mode?

From that link it says Safe mode was only added in ST4, I am on ST3 (and can’t see the safe executable).

Have been using this for ages and only had this problem this week.

Could you paste the path information from the console View > Show Console. It should be at the very top.

That is:

executable: /W/webDev/Sublime Text Build 3211 x64/sublime_text.exe
working dir: /W/webDev/Sublime Text Build 3211 x64
packages path: /W/webDev/Sublime Text Build 3211 x64/Data/Packages
state path: /W/webDev/Sublime Text Build 3211 x64/Data/Local
zip path: /W/webDev/Sublime Text Build 3211 x64/Packages
zip path: /W/webDev/Sublime Text Build 3211 x64/Data/Installed Packages

Which all looks correct.

I just deleted the files in Data\Local again, and after deleting I refreshed the folder, and the “Auto Save Session.sublime_session” file came back. ST3 was not open, and I can’t see it running in the background. I think the file has become corrupted and I can’t delete it (permissions all look okay). I’ll have to run a disk check and that will hopefully sort it out. At least I know what the problem is now.
