Not possible to drag text? R u serious?

Is it possible to select a text and drag it around?
Everybody does that and it’s waaaay faster and efficient.
Nobody want to ctrl X + Ctrl V and loose something they’re already copy in the clipboard!
Come on bro. Don’t make me download Notepad. PLEASE!!

Of course, Sublime Text supports dragging text within or across views and it is enabled by default.

It can be disabled via "drag_text": false setting though.

Unfortunately I can’t get it work…
I got to put this in Preferences-> Settings right ?
P.S.: It seems the feature has been gone since the new update I think. Because I don’t recall to have this problem…

It works fine with ST 4125/4126/4127 on Windows 10/11.

Dragging starts after defined delay as of ST4119 on MacOS in order to comply with behavior of all other Apps on that platform.

Changelog says:

  • Mac: Tweak text drag-drop behavior to respect NSDragAndDropTextDelay

So maybe you just need to hold down the mouse button a little longer to drag the text in case you are on MacOS. Alternatively you can change the NSDragAndDropTextDelay.

Yes, global user settings are placed in Preferences.sublime-settings reached via Main Menu > Preferences > Settings.

Damn ok I got it! Yes i’m on Mac and have to hold it longer. Kind of weird but I guess I will get use to it.
