I tried to Sublime 3 on my Mac laptop with OS Catalina ver. 10.15.4 and I can’t get the emmet to work and the sidebar doesn’t show the rename file when right clicked. is Sublime compatible with This OS version?

Sublime is compatible with MacOS Catalina; the Emmet problem you’re seeing seems potentially more like an issue with Emmet itself. I don’t use that particular package myself, so I’m not aware of any obvious “gotcha” type things in setting it up though.
Sublime does have a Rename option that should appear in the side bar, but a package that you’ve installed might be interfering with things. You might try reverting to a freshly installed state and see if the problem persists.
If you’re not sure how to do that, this video covers how you’d do it (the demo is done on Windows, but the steps apply for all operating systems).
