No save dialogue for files beginning with character 254

#1

I often create concordance load files in SublimeText that use Characters 020 and 254 as delimiters. The file will begin with character 254. I have to insert a newline above this character in order to save the file. Then I delete the newline at the beginning and save again.

If I save or “save as” from a new file when the file begins with character 254, no save dialogue appears and no file is saved.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but 254 is the first byte of a Unicode byte-order mark (BOM). In a BOM it’s followed by 255, which, I assume, isn’t the case in your file. It wouldn’t surprise me if the problem somehow related to this ill-formed BOM.
