New lines inserted after every line

So i`ve been using this software for a short time - it works as expected on my laptop, but my new desktop has some strange problem. EVERY time I open a file to edit (C, perl, html, php, css) a new line is added after every line, without fail. I have checked all settings and cannot figure this out. I run a regex replacement on ^\n to remove each time.

Both using Windoze 10.

Any ideas?

I want to bump this as i`m tired of running the regex on every edit.

Further, is anyone aware of a method to automatically run a regex on every load of a file?
