Is it possible to narrow the search field to look for text only within certain lines?
Maybe refining the search criteria with “:1-:10” or something. Meaning as well as the criteria already set, limit it to just the first 10 lines.
Then if the thing you are searching for you know must be in that area it will be found but if matching criteria outside that limit exists it will be missed.
Not really what I was after.
If you have a project with 10s or 100s of files and most of them have some similar text that is always at the top of the file it would be nice to limit the search to just that area.
I know there are other ways to go about it. I personally can’t be without Find++. The ability to search within all the project’s files, regardless of them being open or not, is invaluable.
Still, if you know your search criteria is also going to be in the rest of the file, but you are only concerned with finding the matches in the specified section, it will shorten the resultant Find files results.
Then instead of perhaps 100s you now only have 10s of results the work is therefore greatly reduced.
Perhaps this is a thing a plugin will handle. I’ll keep looking.
