Multiple selection won't work

I’m using Ubuntu 14.04 and Sublime Text 2 and the shortcut for multiple line selection won’t work (ctrl+alt+down [or up]). I remember that I tried in 13.10 and it didn’t work neither.

sublime.log_commands(True)

in the console.
